  It was decided that the reunion take place in the following years the first Sunday of August, or as near that date as possible.

  It was also decided that the officers which make up the Executive Committee should decide where the next meeting should be held and appoint the necessary committees.

  The day also was Mother Schindler's seventy-seventh birthday.

  A basket dinner, ice cream and cake were enjoyed by all, in spite of the heat of the day, which was unusually hot.

  Games and contests were held and an entertaining program was given in the afternoon by the entertainment committee.

  At the business meeting led by the President, Lee Schneider, new officers were elected for the next year. They are:

  It was voted that the next reunion should be held on the first Sunday in August, and on the old home place.

Oct. 17: Al Capone convicted of tax evasion.

August 3, 1931

  It was to have been Sunday, August 2, but rain prevented the gathering for that day, so it was held the following day which was Mother Schindler's seventy-eighth birthday.

  At 6 o'clock dinner was spread on a large table in the lawn and was enjoyed by each one present, after which an interesting program was presented by the members of the family; arranged by the entertainment committee.

  An address was given by each, the Rev. Hoffman and Rev. Schnuelle and was much appreciated by all.

  After the program the business meeting was held and led by the President, Frank Schindler.

  The new officers for the coming year were elected as follows:

  All was in favor of having the 1932 reunion again at the Schindler homestead the first Sunday in August.

  A collection was taken for defraying the expenses of the ice cream, lemons and ice.

  At a late hour ice cream and cake was served to every one after which the different families departed to their homes.

August 7, 1932

  At noon dinner was spread on a large table on the lawn and was enjoyed by each one present.

  "Blest be the Tie that Binds" was sang by everyone, after which an interesting and appropriate program of musical numbers and readings were given by the members of the family.

  Mother Schindler's favorite song "Saved by Grace" was sang by the Sander brothers. Rev. C.F. Kliphardt and Rev. Guy Gates each gave a short talk and was appreciated by all. The program was arranged by the program committee.

  After the program the President, Elmer Schindler, had charged of the business session. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Fifty-two responded to the roll call. Alva Curtiss, son of Mr. & Mrs. Everett Schindler, was welcomed as a new member of the family.

  New officers for the coming year were elected as follows:

  $5.70 was paid in defraying the expenses of refreshments. Ice cream and cake was served to everyone present before departing to their homes.

  A business meeting in charge of the President, Charles Schindler, was held after the program. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Fifty-one members responded to roll call. New officer for the coming year were elected as follows:

  Milton Ford, Harvey Fankhauser, Lucille Schneider, and Daryl Schneider were welcomed as new members of the Schindler family.

  A collection was taken defraying expenses of refreshments. In the evening ice cream and cake were served to everyone present.

  A short sacred program was given by the members of the family.

  After the program, a business meeting, with Elmer Schindler as chairman in the absence of the president and vice-president, was held. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Forty-six members responded to roll call. Several members, who remained at the bedside of Mother Schindler, were unable to be present. A talk was given by Lee Schneider.

  It was decided that the reunion be at the Home place next year unless changed by the Executive Committee.

  The following officers for the coming year are:

  Dolly Schindler was welcomed as a new member of the Schindler family.

  A collection was taken to defray the expenses of ice cream and lemonade.

August 4, 1935

  Everyone joined in singing "Blest be the Tie" as the opening number of the program in the afternoon. Other appropriate musical numbers and readings were given by members of the family. Lee Schneider made a short talk in memory of the two loved members, Grandmother Schindler and Zella Schneider, who had passed to the Great Beyond since the 1934 reunion.

  The program had been arranged by the entertainment committee. After the program, a business meeting was held with Everett Schindler, the president in charge. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Betty Schneider, who acted as secretary pro tem, and were adopted. Fifty-one members responded to roll call. Thirteen visitors were present.

  Officers for the coming year were elected as follows:

  A collection was taken to defray the expenses of the refreshments. Ice cream and cake were served to those present, after which they departed to their homes.

  The business meeting was in charge of the President, Clarence Schindler, was opened by prayer led by Lester Sander. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved. Forty-nine members reponded to roll call and seven visitors were present.

  Marilyn Jeane Schindler and Roger Franklin Ford were welcomed as new members of the family.

  Officer for the coming year were elected as follows:

  A collection was taken to defray the expenses of refreshments and 27 cents remained in the treasury after all expenses had been paid.

  Everyone joined in singing "Saved by Grace" at the close of the business meeting and after adjournment ice cream, cake and lemonade were served to those present.

August 1, 1937

  Rev. & Mrs. Gilbert sang the opening song "Saved by Grace", after which Rev. Gilbert lead in prayer. Lester Sander gave a very interesting talk. A quartet consisting of Rev. Gilbert, Lester and Ermel Sander, and Clifton Schindler sang, "The Riches of Love."

  The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, after which the roll was called to which fifty-six members responded, 11 visitors were present.

  Clarence Wayne Schindler was heartily welcomed as a new member into the family.

  Officers for the coming year were elected as follows:

  A collection was taken to defray the expenses of refreshments. After all expenses were paid, 40 cents remained in the treasury.

  The meeting then adjourned after which ice cream, cake and lemonade were served to all present.

  The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, after which the roll was called to which fifty-six members responded and fourteen visitors were present.

  Albert Larry, son of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Schindler, was heartily welcomed as a new member of the family.

  During the afternoon, it, being Clarence Schindler's birthday, a group of young people surprised him by surrounding him and singing "Happy Birthday."

  After the meeting adjournment, cake, ice cream and lemonade were enjoyed by all.

  The following officers were elected for the coming year:

  An interesting program consisted of vocal and instrumental numbers were given; a piano solo by Betty Schindler, vocal solo by Clifton Schindler, duet by Rev. & Mrs. G. Carol Gilbert.

  Those who became new members are: Ben Cornelius, Jr., Janice Dorothy Fankhauser, Karen Lavon Schindler and Sharon Gayle Schneider.

  A season of prayer was offered for those who were sick and could not be present.

  The meeting was opened and closed with the songs, "What a Friend we have in Jesus," and "Blest be the Tie that Binds."
